Dr. Wassmer received his undergraduate and MD degrees from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila Philippines. He received his Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine from the Hospital of St. Raphael, Yale University School of Medicine, in New Haven, Connecticut where he was “Most Outstanding Resident of the Year”. Dr. Wassmer completed his Fellowship training in Cardiovascular Diseases at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, including a year of 

advanced training and research in Echocardiography.  Dr. Wassmer is a general and invasive/non-interventional cardiologist whose practice includes general adult cardiology, diagnostic cardiac and peripheral vascular angiography and permanent pacemaker implantation. His main expertise is in the field of Echocardiography, specifically Contrast and Transesophageal Echocardiography. His other interests include adult congenital heart diseases and peripheral vascular diseases. Dr. Wassmer has many publications in peer review journals.

Dr. Wassmer is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Member of the American Society of Echocardiography and American Medical Association.
