The Heart & Vascular Institute of Florida - South is the largest cardiovascular group in Tampa Bay, with two dozen cardiologists and over 200 employees. Our programs span the entire spectrum of cardiovascular medicine.

We have forged in new frontiers of cardiovascular care and treatment through advances in nuclear medicine, cutting edge technology and research, and the development of preventive and educational services.

Coupled with highly trained physicians and medical staff, The Heart & Vascular Institute has established itself as a "Center of Excellence" in the care and treatment of cardiovascular disease to include the following programs:

• Berkely Heart Labs Cholesterol level

The Heart and Vascular Institute of Florida offers comprehensive cardiac risk factor education. We also offer advanced lipid (blood fat) testing to evaluate for genetic cardiac risk factors beyond basic cholesterol tests.

• Coronary Interventions

The Heart and Vascular Institute of Florida offers a variety of Test & Procedures including: Coronary and Peripheral Angiography, Intravascular Ultrasound, Intra-aortic Balloon
Bump, Angioplasty/PTCA, Coronary Atherectomy, Coronary Stens, Ballon Valvuloplasty, and Brachtherapy.

• Peripheral Interventions

The following programs/services are included: Diagnosis, Treatment, Education, Research.

• Arrhythmia Center

The following programs/services are included: Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, Electrical Cardioversion, Electrophysiological Studies, Radiofrequency Ablation,  Automatic Implantable Cardioverter (Defibrillator)

• Coumadin Clinic

Under the direction of Kathy Cook, RN, we manage over 500 patient's coumadin levels.

• HAVIR (Heart and Vascular Institute Research)

By participating in clinical research activities sponsored by pharmaceutical and medical device companies, our investigators contribute to the advancement of medicine, and offer the latest drug and device development available.
